I’m rather disappointed with the casts. I like all of them as actors/actresses but as a southeast asian who is always greeted by westerners saying ‘ni hao’ to me, I was hoping that the cast could really highlight that there is huge diversity among Asian people.

aside from sisu's design, i also really don't like the side characters, they all scream comic relief and i feel like they're gonna be super annoying. And the plot of "ancient lands that fell apart" just reminds me of frozen 2 and a million other medias that have done this in the exact same way. Also back to sisu, it looks like shes gonna be a "relateable" comic relief character which is dissapointing. The trope of "character looks for an idol or ancient figure only to meet them and realise they're actually all goofy and quirky" has been overused so badly and it doesn't even look like its gonna be done well here. and yes im aware this is disney so they have to market it towards kids but im just saying my opinion. but the things i do like are the action scenes, they honestlty look really intense and nothing like i've ever seen before in a disney film. I wish another studio could take this concept and make it into a really cool film about raya and the dragon except its just both of them and sisu actually looks like a dragon and IS the wise ancient figure raya has been looking for then they go on a quest and it's all action filled and even emotional. that would be awesome.
