Lol I speak fluent Mandarin, and all of my friends are either learning Japanese or Korean, and any strangers I meet are also either learning Japanese or Korean, or literally any other language but Mandarin. Dude I'm trying to learn Norwegian and 100% agree that listening to native speakers have a conversation is so different to learning from an app. Like I try to watch Norwegian tv shows to get used to how the language sounds, and sentences I would know most of if I saw written down start flying over your head when spoken 'properly' at a normal pace by native speakers.
